# Reference

> What the Reference tab holds, which pages are generated from @xano/sdk 1.0.8 and which are written by hand, and a link to every reference group.

The Reference tab documents every factory, object kind, CLI command, flag, file and code in
`@xano/sdk` 1.0.8. The guides teach a task; these pages list the whole surface.

## Generated and hand-written pages

Most pages here are generated by `scripts/sync-reference.py` from the SDK repo at the `v1.0.8`
tag, and each one says so at its foot. They are never edited by hand: a fix goes into the SDK's
own source and reaches this site on the next sync. The sources are public in
[xano-sdk/sdk](https://github.com/xano-sdk/sdk): the `guides/*.md` files, `manifest.json` (every
CLI command and flag) and `CHANGELOG.md`.

Four pages are written for this site: this one, [CLI overview](/reference/cli/index),
[Config files](/reference/config-files) and [Platforms](/reference/platforms).

## Authoring and config

| Page | What it covers |
| - | - |
| [Authoring reference](/reference/authoring) | Tables and fields, statements and values, inputs, and the request-scoped machinery around them. |
| [Object kinds](/reference/object-kinds) | Every object kind the SDK can author, and how to split a workspace across microservices. |
| [Config files](/reference/config-files) | Every file the SDK reads or writes, and which ones to commit. |
| [Environment & identity](/reference/environment-variables) | Every environment variable the CLI and SDK read, and how `xano.lock` pins identity. |
| [Platforms](/reference/platforms) | Where the Xano Engine runs, and the Node version the CLI needs. |

## CLI

[CLI overview](/reference/cli/index) covers what every command shares: global flags, the
credential and build flag sets, the backend selector grammar, and JSON output. Then one page per
command, in the groups `xanosdk --help` uses:

| Group | Commands |
| - | - |
| Author | [`init`](/reference/cli/init), [`export`](/reference/cli/export), [`compile`](/reference/cli/compile), [`routes`](/reference/cli/routes), [`pull`](/reference/cli/pull), [`generate`](/reference/cli/generate), [`marketplace`](/reference/cli/marketplace-list) |
| Deploy | [`deploy`](/reference/cli/deploy), [`env`](/reference/cli/env-pull), [`secrets fill`](/reference/cli/secrets-fill), [`release`](/reference/cli/release-create), [`promote`](/reference/cli/promote), [`publish`](/reference/cli/publish), [`preflight`](/reference/cli/preflight) |
| Environments | [`tenant`](/reference/cli/tenant-list), [`workspace`](/reference/cli/workspace-details), [`ephemeral`](/reference/cli/ephemeral-list), [`local`](/reference/cli/local-list), [`test`](/reference/cli/test-run-all), [`tables`](/reference/cli/tables), [`impersonate`](/reference/cli/impersonate) |
| Account | [`login`](/reference/cli/login), [`logout`](/reference/cli/logout), [`status`](/reference/cli/status), [`whoami`](/reference/cli/whoami), [`profile`](/reference/cli/profile-list) |
| Maintenance | [`lock`](/reference/cli/lock-rename), [`completion`](/reference/cli/completion), [`version`](/reference/cli/version), [`upgrade`](/reference/cli/upgrade), [`agent-skill`](/reference/cli/agent-skill-install), [`help`](/reference/cli/help) |

## Errors and formats

| Page | What it covers |
| - | - |
| [Warning and error codes](/reference/error-codes) | Every `SDK_*` error code, CLI warning and build diagnostic. |
| [Coverage & agent grounding](/reference/coverage) | What the SDK covers of Xano, what is out of scope, and the machine-readable grounding it ships for agents. |
| [Reading a compiled bundle](/reference/bundle) | The JSON document `xanosdk export` writes, and `@xano/sdk/bundle`, which reads one back. |
| [The marketplace](/reference/marketplace) | Finding published add-ons and adding one to your project. |
| [The module contract](/reference/module-contract) | How to build an add-on: manifest fields, toolchain hooks, and what the SDK refuses. |

The [Changelog](/changelog) tab is generated from the SDK's `CHANGELOG.md` the same way.
