# xanosdk promote

> Land a release in your real workspace.

## Usage

```bash theme={null}
xanosdk promote <release> [options]
```

## Flags

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `--branch <label>` | Land on this branch (default: derived from the release name; never live) |
| `--set-live` | Promote the branch to live once the import lands |
| `--expect-live <label>` | With --set-live: refuse unless \<label> is live — checked before landing and again before switching (not atomic) |
| `--allow-shared-schema-changes` | Land a release that alters tables live serves from (tables are shared by every branch) |
| `--yes, -y` | Confirm a destructive action non-interactively |
| `--entry <path>` | Record the landing in this nested backend's xano.lock, from a directory that is no project |
| `--origin <origin>` | Xano OAuth host for `login` and a XANO\_REFRESH\_TOKEN exchange (default: \$XANO\_ORIGIN) |
| `--config <path>` | Explicit credential file (default: \$XANO\_CONFIG) |
| `--local-auth` | Use the project-local ./.xano/auth.json instead of the shared cache |

Global flags are listed in the [CLI overview](/reference/cli).
